My name is Maria Jose Galvez Trigo, although most people call me Marisé (mah-rees-eh), and I am Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in the School of Computer Science and Informatics at Cardiff University, and part of the Human-centred Computing (HCC) Research Section and its Subgroup in Computational and Human-centred Robotics.

I’m interested in Robotics, Human-Robot Interaction, Human-Computer Interaction and applications of Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence (AI) in those areas, with accessibility and co-design/participatory research as key aspects of my research.

I'm part of the National Software Academy (NSA), where I am the lead for the MSc module Agile Software Development, and I am Deputy Director of Equality Diversity and Inclusivity (EDI) at the School of Computer Science and Informatics.

I'm currently Co-Investigator in the UK Robotics and Autonomous Systems (UK-RAS) network and part of the management team for EMPOWER, a support network for current and aspiring Principal Investigators that identify as women.
