I joined Management and Science University, Malaysia as a senior lecturer in 2013 after my postdoc at the Manchester Institute of Biotechnology, University of Manchester. The first subject I taught was biochemistry for the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences. The first government grant I secured was in 2014 for the Fundamental Research Grant Scheme for a project on bioconversion of lignocellulosic materials. I was appointed Deputy Dean Academic and System soon after and in 2018 I was awarded Associate Professorship and took up the position of Director of Research Management Centre. In 2022 I returned to faculty and served as Deputy Dean Research for the School of Pharmacy and the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences. I am an exco member for the Malaysian Research Managers and Administrators Association (MyRMA) and was the Secretary for the Research and Innovation for Private Higher Education Network (RIPHEN).
