Yu-fan Chiu is a scholar of labor law, labor relations, and civil law. Her work combines legal analysis and comparative research in the theories of labor law, policy, and legal practice. Her recent publications explore complex labor issues up to date such as unfair labor practice and migrant worker relationship. Prior to joining academia, Professor Chiu was a lawyer in Taipei specializing in labor law disputes. She served as the Director of Research Division at Chunghwa Telecom Workers’ Union. She also joined the international legal service for the German Industrial Union of Metalworkers (IG Metall) as well as researcher for Labor Vision-Institute for labor studies and movements. Professor Chiu received a Performance Premium Tutor Honor from National Chiao Tung University for her excellence and dedication to teaching in 2018. Currently, Professor Chiu is a member of the Committee of Unfair Labor Practice Adjudication under the Ministry of Labor in Taiwan.
