South African linguist, with specialisation in human language technologies, Afrikaans morphology and orthography, and construction grammars (specifically Cognitive Grammar and Construction Morphology). I have been a lecturer and researcher for more than 25 years, while I was also active in research management, and the establishment of numerous end-user facing initiatives. My current projects focus on a comprehensive, comparative description of Afrikaans morphology, as well as on swear words and other taboos in Afrikaans and other languages in its ecosystem.
